More than 100 business and community leaders from Eastern Maine gathered at the University of Maine's Buchanan Alumni House on Tuesday, January 3 to honor and thank Senator Susan Collins for her work to change the federal law allowing freight vehicles to use the federal interstate in Maine. The hard fought battle regarding truck weights and their limits on Maine's interstate was waged by Senator Collins and recently received approval when the Transportation Funding Bill was passed by Congress and signed by President Obama.

Senator Collins is pictured with EMDC President Michael Aube, D'Arcy Main-Boyington from the City of Brewer and a member of the Mobilize Eastern Maine Leadership Team and Andy Hamilton from Eaton Peabody and co-chair of Mobilize Eastern Maine.
